A New Partner in Ministry for Christian Education in Chad

By Dr. Buz McNutt

One of the great challenges in Mission:Chad's ministry to FATES (the theological seminary in Chad) is how to find and deliver quality theological materials in the French language. Many of you may remember why Mission:Chad's support of this ministry was so important in the first place: there were very few French speaking NGOs available to support FATES' mission of training the next generation of Christian leaders in Chad. Mission:Chad stepped into this vacuum to do what we could to help, but we first somehow had to bridge the gulf that language created between our English-speaking mission and the French ministry of FATES. But where we are insufficient, God has certainly been sufficient in providing partners along the way. Recently, Mission Chad entered into another such partnership to help bring theological relief to the people of Chad.

Last year The Gospel Coalition International Outreach (TGCIO) provided forty-eight copies of John Piper's Dangerous Duty of Delight in French for the faculty, students, and ministers of FATES and VA. The Gospel Coalition encourages and educates current and next-generation Christian leaders by advocating gospel-centered principles and practices that glorify the Savior and do good to those for whom He shed His life's blood. The particular focus of the International Outreach is to bring theological relief to so many who have no other access.

The gospel is good news for all people. The global church is growing—75% of Christians today live in Africa, Asia, and South America—but there is a lack of gospel centered resources available overseas. TGCIO partners with translators, publishers, and mission networks, like

Mission-Chad, to provide needed resources to the global pastorate. TGC has grown their directory of churches to 7,800 worldwide in just the past 8 years, but none of these churches are in Chad. This is new territory! Here is another incredible opportunity to partner with others to see the gospel spread to our friends at FATES and VA.

Please pray as we launch this new relationship. Through TGCIO we have the opportunity to provide the church of Chad with some of the best theological materials being read today. Also, be looking for updates in the coming months of our progress in distributing this material during our upcoming visits. May God bless you as you continue to bless His work in Chad!
